|ddown~~What do I need to do to start my driving lessons?~ You may not legally drive a car on the public roads until you are 17 or if you are disabled and in receipt of mobility allowance, until you are 16. You will need to apply for your provisional licence by completing the driving licence application form D1 and the photocard application form D750. You can get these at most post offices. The licence usually takes 2 weeks to process. In the meantime it is worthwhile having an eyesight test to check that you meet the minimum eyesight standard for driving. The distance requirement for the old style number plates is 20.5 metres and for the new style number plates is 20 metres. |ddown~~Do I need to pass my Theory test before I start my driving lessons?~ No. Start your lessons before and get plenty of practice. Your instructor will help you with free theory tuition during your lesson. The more you are out on the road the more the theory is put into practice and the better prepared you will be for your theory test. |ddown~~Do Arrow provide help with the theory test?~ Yes. We provide free help with the theory test. We can also provide revision materials including mock tests, theory question and answer books, The Highway Code, Hazard Perception DVD or Video. Our instructors monitor your progress all the time and will advise you when you are ready to put in for your test. |ddown~~Can I learn to drive on an international licence?~ In certain circumstances you are permitted to drive for one year before having to take the UK driving test. Vouchers cannot be used until we receive full payment. We endeavour to get birthday vouchers to you before for the special day and arrange a lesson on the actual birthday if you wish. |ddown~~I have been let down by another driving school and my driving test is in one week. What can I do?~ We will book you in for an assessment lesson and your instructor will advise you on the amount of tuition you will need before your test. Your instructor reserves the right to refuse the use of the car for your driving test if you are not up to the driving test standard. |ddown~~Do you provide mock tests?~ Yes. All of our instructors can conduct mock tests. You will have a debrief at the end of your mock test. |ddown~~I need to take an extended driving test. Can you help?~ Yes. Once your disqualification period has ceased you can apply for a provisional licence. |ddown~~How many lessons a week will I need?~ It is entirely up to you but we would recommend that you have at least 1 - 2 to keep up your practice and confidence. |ddown~~Do you teach motorway driving?~ Yes. We can provide motorway tuition on refresher courses. Motorway driving is also a module on the
